ANNOUNCEMENTS

WATSONTOWN'S 4TH OF JULY PARADE

10 AM JULY 4

Parade kicks off at 930 with the passing of the American Flag. Not sure what that is? Generally A veteran or active member of the military, guards and helps pass the American Flag down Main Street. We encourage parade goers to come out and pass the flag down the street. It’s truly spectacular.

The parade then follows at 10:00.
The route: Main Street from LACC (formerly known as Watsontown Elementary) to the Memorial Park.
When pulling into LACC look for us to hand out registration and to tell you where to go. Pulling into a line that has fewer people does NOT guarantee you to go first. Registration is so we know who participated and for awards.

How long is the parade?  maybe an hour, maybe 1 1/2.  More or less.
There is no fee. This is a 100% FREE parade. We do not know who will show up to participate. We have businesses, organizations, sports teams, tractors, cars, etc.! The sky is the limit here so we can’t give a definitive on how long it will take!  Just sit back and enjoy

Will the parade happen if it rains? Shhh don’t say that R word! But yes. It will. Rain or shine. We’ve had rainy parades, and they were still awesome.

If you’re bringing a horse, please have someone behind to clean up after them. If you don’t, you won’t be allowed in the parade.

Roadblock: you cannot go through Main Street after 920AM. I repeat YOU CAN NOT GO THROUGH MAIN STREET AFTER 920 AM. There will be a roadblock. Don’t hit it. It has been tested in the past and it always wins.

We’re always looking for volunteers. Volunteers you say. Yes. Everyone getting the parade together and on the street is a VOLUNTEER. So are the judges. Be kind.

We hope to have a great turnout, and we hope everyone has fun! Follow the parade to the park for the celebration in the park going on all day!
